As part of a healthy lifestyle, it is not only important to eat right, you also need to exercise. Whether that means walking your dog at the park or completing a killer leg day at the gym, moving around makes you look and feel better. I personally workout 6 days at the gym in addition to my “active rest” days in which I do groceries and chores. But that’s just me – you need to find a way to integrate exercise into your life without making it feel like a chore. For me, if I went to the gym 1 or 2 days a week, I always hated going. Once I started going 3 times a week I felt good and even looked forward to my next session.
That being said, there are a few things that can help you out along the way. I always find music an essential part to working out. I frequently update my playlists so that I have something new to listen to and organize them based on my workout so that when I need to go faster the music gives me that extra push (take a look below to see what I’m currently listening to on Spotify). There are also supplements that will not only prepare you for your workout, but help in your recovery so that you can get back to the gym faster.
Now once you are at the gym what do you do … Whatever it is, make sure you are progressing over time. Whether that means running a little faster, lifting a little heavier or getting a few more reps in. That is why it is helpful to keep a workout journal to track your progress and help you set goals. There are many pre-fab ones out there so you don’t even have to make your own – or you can use my template below!
